IN THE STUDIO: Small Original Paintings

I think of language in terms of colour and shape. Large pieces are like short stories and smaller paintings are like words or phrases. I love the idea of putting small paintings together the same way you would construct a sentence. Or selecting one painting to punctuate or isolate a feeling; or exploring a variation of the same sentiment through a series.

My 4×6″ and 6×9″ paintings are free in their ideas.  Each one is saved and curated in the experimentation process because it has the potential to expand and evolve into something else. They symbolize hope and belief in the future.
